Come learn about the Academy’s new Comprehensive Scope of Practice Resources for RDs and DTRs released in March 2013.  See tools used by RDs and DTRs for self-assessment in determining scope of practice and education, skills, and competence needed to advance practice. Use these tools to build tomorrow’s leaders and advance the profession of nutrition and dietetics.

Learning objectives:

1. Describe the purpose of each component of the Comprehensive Scope of Practice Resource for the RD and Comprehensive Scope of Practice Resource for the DTR.
2. Utilize the scope of practice documents for self-assessment to determine competence and how to advance practice.
3. Utilize the online interactive Scope of Practice Decision Tool to determine an RD’s or DTR’s individual scope of practice.
