Does your Child Live with Hearing Loss?

One way Cincinnati Children’s uses MRIs is in a study that scans the brain while it performs tasks such as listening to noise and speech. If your child has hearing loss, he can contribute to this research. The study requires two visits (about four hours total) and an MRI scan.

Summary: This study looks at how the brain processes sound. Researchers compare results from children who have hearing loss in one ear with results from those who have normal hearing.

Participants: Children ages 7 to 11 who have hearing loss in one ear may be eligible to participate.

Pay: Families will receive a $50 Toys “R” Us gift card at each of the two study visits.

Details: Contact research audiologist Edie Eads at edie.eads@cchmc.org or 513-636-2216 or read more about the study
