    It is often helpful for parents and caregivers of children with special healthcare needs to connect with others who are facing the same issues and challenges. Cincinnati Children's sponsors or recommends a variety of specialized support groups including:

    Bipolar Disorder

    Cincinnati Children's provides support for patients and families through the National Association of Mental Illness (NAMI) Family Support Group.

    Families may also receive support and information from the Family Resource Center at College Hill, 513-636-7808, the Mental Health Association, 513-721-2910, or NAMI, 513-948-3094.

    Eating Disorders

    Cincinnati Children's provides support for parents of patients living with eating disorders.

    Eosinophilic Disorders

    The eosinophilic disorders support group is offered by the Cincinnati Center for Eosinophilic Disorders in partnership with the Eosinophilic Family Coalition, Cincinnati chapter.

    Support groups cover a wide variety of topics and feature expert speakers from both Cincinnati Children's and the community. Hospital volunteers provide free child care. 

    Meetings are bi-monthly and are on the third Wednesday of the month unless otherwise specified.

    Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome

    The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's assists the RTS-OKI in sponsoring parent support group meetings.

    This group meets on Saturdays (quarterly) from 11:30 am to 2 pm at Cincinnati Children's.

    Sudden Infant Death Syndrome

    The sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) support group at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center welcomes families and caregivers whom have lost a child to SIDS.

    This group meets one Tuesday out of the month at 7 pm.

    Surgical Weight Loss Program for Teens

    The Surgical Weight Loss Program for Teens at Cincinnati Children's holds bi-monthly family support group meetings for pre and post-surgery patients.

    This group meets on the fourth Friday of the month at 5:30 pm at Cincinnati Children's.

    Velocardiofacial Syndrome

    Cincinnati Children's provides support for patients and families through the Tristate 22Q-VCFS Family Support Network.
