Heart Institute Grand Rounds

CME Overview

The Educational Streaming Media Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center provides Heart Institute Grand Rounds via streaming media. View a list of all system requirements. 

Presentations are only approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for up to one year from the presentation date. In order to obtain credit, the online post-test must be completed. Upon successful completion, a certificate is available to print. Credit records are also tracked electronically by the CME office. The estimated time to complete this activity, including review of the materials, is 1.0 hour(s). 

This CME activity is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians as well as other health care professionals. Information and opinion offered by the contributors represent their viewpoints. Conclusions drawn by the participant should be derived from careful consideration of all available scientific information. Prescription information and use of medical devices should be undertaken only after confirmation of information by consulting the FDA-approved uses and information. 

If at any time during this activity you feel that there has been commercial or promotional bias, please indicate on the evaluation section of the post test. 

All presenters have signed a video tape release form allowing their presentation and its content to be viewed on the web. Presenters are also required to verify that the necessary steps have been taken to ensure patients privacy and confidentiality.

Heart Institute Grand Rounds Educational Gap:  Due to the complex nature of acquired and structural heart disease, the Heart Institute was established to encompass the divisions of cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, anesthesia, radiology, fetal surgery and cardiovascular biology.  Heart Institute Grand Rounds will improve collaboration among these disciplines which will promote adherence to the clinical care guidelines for the care and treatment of children with acquired and structural heart disease.

Heart Institute Grand Rounds Series Objectives: 1. Discuss the clinical management of children and young adults with complex congenital heart disease, 2. Discuss current research strategies being employed to address the treatment of pediatric heart.
