PALS Overview

 anesthesia team infant

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) courses given by Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center are sponsored by the American Heart Association. These courses present information and skills needed for management of seriously ill or injured pediatric patients.

Registrants must be physicians, nurses, paramedics or other health care personnel whose occupation requires managing the pediatric patient.

Starting in 2011, Cincinnati Children's Hospital has moved to offering PALS in an online module followed by skills testing at the Center for Simulation & Research on Oak Campus. The online module (CD) and access key will be mailed to paid course registrants 4-5 weeks prior to the course. Please note, the CD is not compatible with Mac operating systems. You must have a PC in order to access and complete the required pre-work.  Participants are required to bring documentation of completing the online module in order to participate in the skills testing portion and to receive the PALS certification card.
