Announcements

With input from the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center research community during recent focus groups, followed by an open comment period, the Cincinnati Children's IRB is pleased to announce the release of an updated Application for IRB Review.

The new application will become effective 8/1/2007.

The IRB will continue to accept the previous version of the application during the month of August to accommodate those applications that are currently in development. Beginning 9/1/2007, the IRB office will only accept the updated application.

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center oversees all research involving human participants in accordance with federal regulations, applicable state laws, and institutional policy.

Investigators conducting human research at Cincinnati Children's are required to submit their research plans and protocols to the IRB for review and approval. This process allows Cincinnati Children's to protect the participants who volunteer to be study subjects. [perhaps additional informaiton about AAHRPP would be helpful here.]
