Research Support for Cincinnati Children’s Investigators and Industry Sponsors

Few pediatric institutions have the infrastructure of an internal department such as the Office for Clinical and Translational Research (OCTR). The OCTR’s 45-plus multidisciplinary team functions as an in-house agency or “one-stop” clinical research support center for investigators and industry sponsors. It assists both investigators and sponsors from concept development to publication.

Our mission is to provide Cincinnati Children’s clinical research investigators and industry sponsors with comprehensive support services, research tools, experienced research personnel, and facilities to conduct or facilitate pediatric and adult clinical research from identification and development of research opportunities to phase I through phase IV clinical research trials.

With the addition of the Clinical Sciences Pavilion in 2015, we can now provide sponsors and CROs with access to over 1.4 million square feet of dedicated research space – making us one of the largest pediatric research facilities in the country.

  • OCTR support services for Cincinnati Children’s investigators include identification and development of research opportunities (protocol development), contracts and budgets (for all funding sources), regulatory affairs, project management (single- and multi-center studies), data management, research study management, participant recruitment and retention, integration with institutional research partners and publication support. Our staff also helps investigators to access core services throughout Cincinnati Children’s to benefit the conduct of their studies.

Don’t just take our word for it... See what your colleagues have to say.

The OCTR understands sponsors’ needs and is committed to conducting clinical studies with heightened attention to time constraints and budgets. We act as a liaison assisting sponsors and contract research organizations (CROs) to place, coordinate and/or facilitate select pediatric or adult clinical studies conducted at inpatient and outpatient Cincinnati Children’s facilities.

The OCTR can facilitate partnerships between industry and Cincinnati Children’s top tier researchers and investigators to conduct a wide array of clinical research trials, which can lead to new discoveries improving outcomes for pediatric and adult populations. We work with all of Cincinnati Children’s therapeutic divisions as well as collaborate with other Cincinnati Children’s research centers of expertise to meet sponsor’s study needs. We also have access to the more than 500 Cincinnati Children’s investigators pursuing studies in most of the major pediatric sub-specialties.
