Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are the sample requirements?
2-10 ug total RNA at a volume of 10-12 ul are necessary for the Affymetrix labeling protocol. Ovation requires 20 ng, 200 ng are needed for Epicentre, and Codelink requires 800 ng total RNA.
2. What is the turnaround time?
Samples will be ready in 1-3 weeks, depending on the number of samples we receive and have yet to process.
3. Who can help analyze the data?
The Division of Biomedical Informatics is available to assist researchers with advanced analysis.
4. What happens to leftover RNA?
Unused RNA, cRNA, and hybridization cocktails are stored at -20C for about 6 months after processing. It is the responsibility of the researcher to collect any unused RNA samples. After the 6 months, samples may be discarded without notice.
