On-site Contract Study Support Services

Clinical Trials Office (CTO)

Provides sponsors and clinical investigators with a comprehensive range of research support services.

  • Sponsor/faculty identification
  • Budgeting/contract/negotiation and support
  • Study conduct

    • IRB submissions
    • Contract study coordinators and other study staff, including physicians
    • Scheduling and hosting site assessments, start ups and monitoring visits
    • Representing investigators at sponsor study meetings
    • GCP study conduct education and training for faculty and staff
    • Maintenance of regulatory documents
  • Participant and recruitment - depending upon the recruitment needs of the study, we can tailor a patient recruitment plan using various components including, but not limited to, the following:

    • Advertising - radio, television, newspaper (daily and community) as well as special interest magazines and newspapers
    • Cincinnati Children's publications including newsletters and magazines
    • Community-based practice referrals
    • Database recruitment - children and adults
    • Email - using our internal email system reaching 10,000+ employees
    • Grand Rounds presentations and other speaking opportunities within Cincinnati Children's and the community
    • Internet and intranet - using the hospital's web site and CenterWatch (largest industry clinical studies web site)
    • Printed materials including flyers, post card size flyers, brochures and direct-mail pieces
    • Public relations activities coordinated through Cincinnati Children's Marketing and Communication Department
    • Community events and community health fairs where face-to-face contact may be made and study materials distributed

Cincinnati Center for Nutritional Research and Analysis (CCNRA) is a state-of-the-art computer center providing accurate and detailed analysis of diet records and recalls to researchers.

GLP Laboratory Services
Providing a wide variety of specialized bioanalytical and immunological techniques to assist in the evaluation of biopharmaceutical safety and efficacy.

CCCR Central Laboratory - provides general testing capabilities targeted for clinical studies.

Laboratory of Applied Pharmacokinetics and Therapeutic Drug Management - develops and performs assays for custom drug monitoring and modeling.

Laboratory for Specialized Clinical Studies (LSCS) - conducts specialized procedures for numerous pediatric vaccine clinical evaluations with enhanced bioanalytical methods.

Mass Spectrometry Laboratory (MSL) - provides an analytical resource for clinical and biological samples.
