The Child Policy Research Center (CPRC) serves as an important liaison between policymakers and health services researchers. The CPRC provides data analysis and interpretation to community leaders and policy makers at the local, state and national levels interested in the physical, emotional and social well-being of children and the performance of the health care system. Center themes include:
- Population child health, including perinatal outcomes, infant mortality, and childhood obesity
- Health insurance and access, in particular Medicaid and the State Child Health Insurance Program
- Health system performance and quality, including patient safety and health information technology
Additionally, the CPRC is a focal point for collaborations among those who are doing child policy-relevant research, and provides services for research support such as:
- Population-based research on child well being and disparities
- Demographic studies
- Community-based participatory research, needs assessments and program evaluation
- Policy analysis
- Database management, linking, interpretation, and reporting
