• Taking Action to Prevent Infant Death in Hamilton County – A new report from the Infant Mortality Summit discusses the infant mortality rate in Hamilton County, Ohio, outlining the main causes and risk factors. The report encourages a collaborative effort to coordinate efforts to eliminate preventable infant deaths.
• Reauthorizing SCHIP: Opportunities For Promoting Effective Health Coverage And High-Quality Care For Children And Adolescents – A new report from The Commonwealth Fund says that Congress and the nation have a historic opportunity to build on these gains.
• Moving Forward with Quality: State and Federal Approaches to Measure, Manage, and Improve Quality in the Medicaid Program – This policy brief was developed for national and state based advocates to highlight opportunities for improving quality for women and children in the Medicaid program.
• Child Health and Healthcare Quality: A Chartbook – This comprehensive report, and its companion website www.flchartbook.childhealthdata.org, on the quality of healthcare for Florida's children in the context of their health needs was released on April 2, 2008 as part of Children's Week in Tallahassee.
• The Promise of Health Information Technology: Ensuring that Florida's Children Benefit – This report was prepared under contract with the state of Florida to summarize the state of health information technology adoption among child health providers in Florida
• Childhood Obesity: The Role of Health Policy – This first policy report from the CPRC and the NICHQ Childhood Obesity Action Network was released on March 18, 2008 in Miami Florida as part of the Second Childhood Obesity Congress.
• Childhood Obesity State Scorecards – These fact sheets provide highlights of the nature of the epidemic of childhood obesity in all 50 states as well as summary information on state policy actions.
• Stability and Churning in Medi-Cal and Healthy Families – In this report commissioned by the California Endowment, the stability of public health insurance coverage for children and its impact on cost is examined. Findings show that a large proportion of children have unstable coverage, and overall costs to the insurance system increase as a result.
