PolyDoms

PolyDoms was developed by the Aronow/Jegga lab to map synonymous and non-synonymous single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs and nsSNPs) of proteins onto known functional domains. The application uses only "pfam" for the protein domains. PolyDoms also gives a list of SNPs and their implications as predicted by two software programs, SIFT and PolyPhen, for each protein in the database.

Protein functions are determined by their three-dimensional structures, and PolyDoms takes advantage of this fact, mapping the SNPs onto three-dimensional structures wherever an equivalent protein structure is available.

As PolyDoms generates results, the latest relevant PubMed results are included along with the output.  A POLYVIEW link is also given for each of the proteins in the database. The SNPs are highlighted in the Polyview image for easy inference of the results.
