The Laser Capture Microdissection Core at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is located in the pediatric surgery laboratory on the 5th floor of Location R, Rm 5409. For more information about Laser Capture Microdissection, contact Xiaonan Han, Ph.D., 513-636-7592.
The equipment is straightforward to operate, but training will be needed before use. Dr. Han and his technicians will provide training on the operation of the instrument and are also available to supply general technical advice on the preparation of samples.
Time on the Laser Capture Microdissection will be reserved for investigators and members of the departments that have contributed to the purchase of the instrument in proportion to their contribution. The proportion covered by the Research Foundation and any unused time will be open to all researchers on a first-come first-serve basis. The only direct cost associated with the operation of the Microsdissection is tube caps containing the transfer film. Each researcher using the Microsdissection will be required to purchase their caps. (A box of 48 caps cost $160.)
