Dr. Maria Britto is Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Adolescent Medicine, and Assistant Vice President, Chronic Care Systems. She has led disease-specific and system-wide improvement in chronic disease care at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center since 2001. She currently is co-leading the integration of quality into Cincinnati Children's Epic electronic health record implementation.

Her research focuses on health care needs and preferences of adolescents with chronic conditions and on interventions to improve health outcomes. She is the Director of the Center for Innovation in Chronic Disease Care, which seeks to accelerate improvement in outcomes for children and adolescents with chronic conditions by developing and evaluating new methods of care delivery and by applying innovative approaches to quality improvement in chronic diseases.

Developing an In Vivo Adherence Intervention
Objective is to develop and pilot test a tailored multimodal behavioral intervention to overcome barriers to adherence in adolescents with moderate and severe persistent asthma.
