Are you a faculty member or fellow at CCHMC looking to recruit teens for your study?
The Division of Adolescent Medicine is interested in collaborating with other scientists who are conducting research related to issues of adolescent health and development or studies that plan to include an adolescent population. We have faculty members (physicians and PhD’s) as well as adolescent medicine fellows and nurse practitioners who may serve as useful collaborators appropriate for your study. Additionally, if you are considering recruiting adolescents from the Teen Health Center, we have found that it works best to contact us during the planning stages of writing your grant proposal. We have many requests to recruit adolescents and have designed special recruitment procedures that allow us to work within the confines of our current clinic structure and still maintain clinic flow and optimum care of our patients. In most instances, we have found that it is best for Teen Health Center recruiters to do the additional clinic recruiting. Cost sharing should be discussed with Dr. Lorah Dorn and the Adolescent Medicine collaborating investigator prior to grant submission. Early planning and including an adolescent medicine collaborator on your study can help insure the success of recruitment. Please contact Lorah D. Dorn, Ph.D., Director of Research, for further information regarding potential collaborators and recruitment of teen patients (lorah.dorn@cchmc.org; or 636-7204).
