Bio

Dr. Meinzen-Derr is a quantitative epidemiologist with a joint appointment with the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology. Her overall goal is to improve outcomes in children who are deaf/hard of hearing. Her currently funded research involves understanding the needs of children who are deaf/hard of hearing and have a co-existing disability. She has a prolific publication background in the areas of necrotizing enterocolitis, children with hearing loss, and breastfeeding. She is involved with teaching courses at the University of Cincinnati Department of Environmental health as well as in supporting the educational curricula for fellow research education within the Divisions of Neonatology, Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, and Pediatric Otolaryngology.
