Training in the Lab
The Wells Laboratory provides training for postdoctoral fellows (postdoctoral opportunities), graduate students (Graduate Program in Molecular and Developmental Biology), pediatric fellows, medical students and undergraduate students (Undergraduate Summer Program). In addition to one-on-one meetings, the members of the Wells, Deutsch and Zorn lab meet once per week to discuss individual progress and plans. The faculty, fellows, students and staff also meet every other week with other groups from the Division of Developmental Biology to hear presentations by graduate students or postdocs, news, and general discussion. We’ve also established The Endoderm Club that meets every other week with other research groups at the research foundation that study development and disease of endoderm organs. In this relaxed environment, researchers from 14 labs discuss late breaking research in areas ranging from liver development and disease to lung regeneration.
The Wells and Zorn labs meet weekly to present data, discuss ideas, and drink coffee.
Discussions often continue over lunch.
