Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics

Clinical Service

The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center provides interdisciplinary support services to individuals with developmental disorders.

There were 17,951 separate client visits in FY 2005. Areas served include 86% from Ohio, 11% from Kentucky, 2% from Indiana, and 1% from other states and Europe. Satellite clinical programs are provided at St. Elizabeth Medical Center and New Perceptions in Northern Kentucky, and two rural outreach clinics in Adams and Clinton counties in Ohio.

Current clinical services provide ongoing service coordination, therapeutic intervention and medical management as requested by the primary care physician and other specialists. Early intervention and identification of high risk infants, 0-3 years of age, remains a major service commitment, including linking Cincinnati Children's (neonatal intensive care unit) graduates to community early intervention services.

Family supports are provided through group and individual therapy programs. Families and professionals receive up-to-date information concerning developmental disorders from the Jack H. Rubinstein Libraries.
