Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics

Teaching / Training Program

During fiscal year 2005, 138 trainees received interdisciplinary training in Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. They were trained through the preservice interdisciplinary leadership education program funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (tenth year). Trainees were from the areas of:

  • Pediatrics
  • Nursing
  • Health administration
  • Education
  • Nutrition
  • Social work
  • Audiology
  • Speech pathology
  • Psychology

Through this training, the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics' outreach and in-service programs expanded the pool of professionals to provide leadership in the field of neurodevelopmental disorders.

Full-time faculty and support staff were integral in the training efforts. The faculty taught academic courses attended by 975 students. Over 500 individuals received 40 or more contact hours of training and included 40 pediatric residents.
