Overview
Our division participates in the training of the next generation of pediatric health care providers on all levels of medical education.
Fellowship
Our division has a board certified, training fellowship program in Pediatric Endocrinology, directed by Dr. Susan Rose. The three year training program accepts three fellows each year. Fellows receive expert training in clinical endocrinology. In addition, the fellowship provides the graduates with the tools to become independent, physician scientists in either basic or clinical research.
Post-doctoral Training
We provide post-doctoral training in both basic and clinical research through programs in the Children’s Hospital Research Foundation and the University of Cincinnati graduate training programs.
Pediatric Residents
The Endocrinology Division is an integral part of the Pediatric Residency Training program at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Residents receive Endocrine training in a number of ways:
- Residents rotate through the inpatient and outpatient setting interacting with the Endocrine faculty one on one.
- Faculty present at the residents’ daily noon conferences.
- Residents who are interested in research are welcome to participate in projects with faculty.
Medical Students
As part of the Department of Pediatrics for the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, medical students participate in inpatient and outpatient clinical rotations in Endocrinology. Based on individual interests, medical students may also participate in basic and clinical research projects. In addition, faculty participate in didactic presentations to fulfill the College of Medicine curriculum.
College and High School Students
Through the Children’s Hospital Research Foundation Student Scholars Program, we provide opportunities for promising college and high school students to participate in laboratory and basic research.
