Technician Overview
The Division of Experimental Hematology offers many options for employment as a Research Assistant. The primary focus of the division is to understand the biology of blood cell formation and function and to use this knowledge in the development of innovative treatments of genetic and acquired diseases affecting the blood system and cancer. Each of the faculty has a specific focus within this overall goal and each requires multiple research assistants with varied educational and experience requirements. Educational requirements generally preferred are BS or MS in a biological science and experience requirements range from newly graduated to highly experienced laboratory specialists. The skills sought may include tissue culture, small animal handling, molecular techniques, flow cytometry, and computational knowledge, to mention the most common. The CCHMC RA positions are tailored into categories ranging from Laboratory Aide, RA I, RA II, RA III, RA IV, and Senior Research Assistant.
