Bio
Dr. van der Loo joined the Division of Experimental Hematology at the Children's Hospital Research Foundation in 2002. He came from the University of Minnesota where he was an Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Transplantation, Department of Medicine and faculty member of the Microbiology, Immunology and Cancer Biology Graduate School. He was a member of the University of Minnesota Cancer Center and Stem Cell Institute. Dr. van der Loo earned a bachelor's and master's degree in Biology at the State University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. He earned his PhD degree at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the Howard Hughes Institute at the University of Indiana, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr. van der Loo is the Director of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center's Vector Production Facility and Viral Vector Core.
