Bio

Patrick H. Conway, MD, MSc, completed his pediatric residency at Boston Children's Hospital. In 2005-07 he was a hospitalist attending at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a master's degree in health services research. His research there, published in the July 11, 2007 issue of JAMA, the Journal of the American Medical Association, found that use of prophylactic antibiotic treatment for children with initial urinary tract infection (UTI) was not associated with reduced risk of recurrent UTI and significantly increased the risk of resistant infections. Dr. Conway's research focuses on quality of care measurement and improvement, primarily in inpatient pediatrics.

Just a few days before his arrival at Cincinnati Children's, Conway learned he has been named to the 2007-08 class of White House Fellows. He is the first physician at Cincinnati Children's and the first pediatrician in almost 10 years to be part of this prestigious program.
