Mission

The mission of the General and Community Pediatrics Division at Cincinnati Children's is to improve child health.

The mission of the Division of General and Community Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is to improve child health through excellence and leadership in general pediatric health care, education, research and advocacy which values family, the contributions of division members and promotes shared commitment and community collaboration.

The Division of General and Community Pediatrics is composed of four sections: community pediatrics, clinical care, education and research and accomplishes its mission by:

  • Providing comprehensive primary medical care to infants, children and adolescents
  • Being a leader in caring for children in need
  • Educating medical students and pediatric and family residents in the principles of pediatric primary care
  • Provision of life-long learning and education to practicing pediatricians and physician through the Faculty Development Program and the Masters in Education Program
  • Training physicians for a career in general academic pediatrics
  • Conduct clinical and health services research in areas related to pediatric primary care and childhood antecedents of adult disease
