AccessCare Inc. Asthma Learning Collaborative
The purpose of the AccessCare Inc. Asthma Learning Collaborative (ALC) is to improve the quality of care for pediatric asthma patients within the AccessCare and UNC Health Systems network. The collaborative improved the quality of life for children with asthma, reduced emergency room visits and hospitalizations, and increased the appropriate use of anti-inflammatory medications.
The collaborative consists of 23 pediatrics practices across the state of North Carolina. The American Academy of Pediatrics Pediatric Research in Office Setting (PROS) Network and the Helping Improve Pediatric Practice in Office Settings (HIPPOS) group developed the practice assistance program used in the collaborative.
