Advanced Cancer Therapies Center
The Advanced Cancer Therapies Center is a vital part of Cancer Services at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. The center utilizes a core group of highly specialized oncologists trained in the field of high risk cancers to treat pediatric patients with high risk solid tumors.
Building on the existing expertise within the divisions of Hematology/Oncology and Experimental Hematology, the center is developing a foundation of integrated clinical-laboratory research to offer patients and their families innovative treatment options.
Center Highlights
- Leadership participation in the National Cancer Institute Phase I Consortium, the NANT-Neuroblastoma Consortium and the Children's Oncology Group.
- Joint collaboration with the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program to develop novel therapies (e.g. – therapeutic antibodies, signal transduction inhibitors, and others).
- A new Radiobiologics Therapy Program developing new treatments for high risk neuroblastoma and leukemia/lymphoma.
- A new integrated laboratory research core – the Pharmacogenetics/Drug Metabolizing Enzyme Genotyping Program to develop new therapies for high risk malignancies and improve cure rates.
