Patients

The Division of Clinical Pharmacology is involved in clinical, research, and training activities dedicated to improving the care of children through an increase in both the quality and quantity of funded, important, and ethically acceptable clinical and basic research trials.

The Division was first established more that 20 years ago by Jennifer Loggie, MD, as the first clinic in the country solely for hypertensive children.  In 2000, the Division expanded to increase activities in all research, teaching and practice aspects of pediatric therapeutics including clinical trials, mechanisms of drug action, therapeutic drug monitoring, pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD), PK/PD modeling, pharmacogenomics, as well as adverse drug reactions, medication errors, drug interactions and other aspects of medical toxicology.
