FamilyView: LIFE Study
The FamilyView: LIFE Study is designed to assess family interactions in families of children who are overweight, as well as healthy controls. Mealtimes have been found to be a good time to see families interacting. Thus, participation in the study involves a brief home visit from two of our research staff. Families complete questionnaires about family interactions and mealtime stress. Height and weight are obtained for each family member. Families are videotaped eating their evening meal and the study visit takes approximately 30-40 minutes plus the length of the meal. Meals are coded using the McMaster Mealtime Interaction Coding System. Participants are reimbursed for their time with gift cards. Co-Investigators: Meg Zeller, PhD and Carrie Piazza-Waggoner, PhD.
