The Impact of Antibiotic Treatment of a Pulmonary Exacerbation in Patients with Cystic Fibrosis on Health-Related Quality of Life and Psychosocial Functioning
The purpose of this study is to assess the Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQOL) and psychosocial functioning of children and adolescents with CF before and after a pulmonary exacerbation. Participants include those receiving IV antibiotics during a 10-14 day hospitalization, IV antibiotics in the home environment, and outpatient healthy CF controls. The present study involves the administration of a battery of psychological measures assessing HRQOL, family functioning, and coping. Participants are reimbursed for their time with gift cards. Co-Investigators: Kimberly Driscoll, PhD, Carrie Piazza-Waggoner, PhD, and Jamie Wooldridge, MD.
