Psychosocial Functioning of Adolescents with Juvenile Fibromyalgia
This project was a cross sectional study of peer relationships, emotional well being and family functioning in adolescents and families with juvenile fibromyalgia and age–matched healthy controls and their families. The study was part of an NIH Multidisciplinary Clinical Research Center Grant to the Division of Rheumatology. The primary objectives were to study the social, emotional and behavioral quality of life of adolescents with juvenile primary fibromyalgia syndrome. Currently, a follow-up study is ongoing, to assess long term health and quality of life in these patients with juvenile fibromyalgia as they begin to deal with the challenges of young adulthood.
