T32 Postdoctoral Training Program

The T32 training program is to support postdoctoral training in child behavior and nutrition, with a specific focus on pediatric chronic illnesses.

T32 Fellows will:

  • Have expertise in the pathophysiology, diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of pediatric diseases in which nutritional modification is a central component of management
  • Have the knowledge of nutrition and behavioral science and clinical investigation skills necessary to develop and test interventions designed to change diet and improve health outcomes in pediatric diseases in which nutritional modification is a central component of management
  • Have the knowledge of nutritional and biomedical measures and the clinical investigation skills necessary to assess the physical (e.g., body composition, bone mass, disease progression) and psychosocial (e.g., quality of life, family functioning, functional behavior) outcomes of the interventions designed to change diet

This T32 grant provides the infrastructure for a multidisciplinary training program, bringing together on a cooperative basis, behavioral, biomedical, and nutrition scientists in a manner that will enhance and extend postdoctoral training in child behavioral and nutrition sciences at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

RA Educational Seminars

Research Assistants are strongly encouraged to attend monthly RA seminars which are designed to assist them in their current position and with career planning. At these seminars, a variety of educational topics are presented. Because these seminars are educational and will contribute to an RA's professional development, they can be included on resumes and graduate school applications. These seminars will also provide RA's with a chance to meet fellow RA's and faculty in psychology and in other divisions. These relationships can be a valuable resource for information about research, graduate schools, and careers.

The following are examples of topics covered in RA Seminars:

  • Data analysis and SPSS
  • Cleaning Data and Preliminary Analyses
  • Research methods and designs
  • Participant recruitment and retention
  • Poster presentation, design, and development
  • Institutional Review Board and Ethics
  • Information about the GRE and graduate programs
