Overview
Vrushank Girishbhai Davé was born, raised and studied at St. Xavier's High School in the town of Gandhinagar, India. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Biochemistry (Hons.) from St. Xavier's College Ahmedabad and his master's degree in Biotechnology from MSU Baroda, India. He completed his graduate studies in Molecular Biology from Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi, with a PhD in Biotechnology (1994). He did his post-doctoral research in Molecular Cardiology, University of Cincinnati (1994-96), and was a research scholar in Molecular and Developmental Biology, Cincinnati Children's Research Foundation (1996-2001) before joining the Department of Pediatrics faculty in the Division of Pulmonary Biology.
Dr. Davé's research involves mouse models and biochemical approaches to elucidate signaling events and transcription networks critical in Lung development, diseases and cancer. His current research interests are:
- Respiratory epithelial cell differentiation and maturation
- Epithelial cell polarity and cancer
- Epigenetic signatures in lung development and cancer
- Structural studies on transcription factor-DNA interaction on gene promoters.
