Overview

"There is emerging evidence for an association between early development and the onset of diseases such as coronary and heart diseases, obesity and diabetes and osteoporosis in adult life. The quality of pregnancy is a critical factor, since subtle changes during in utero retal life can have profound consequences later in life."  - Dr. S. K. Dey, Lens, Summer 2008

The Division of Reproductive Sciences at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center strives to understand the complex biology of the human reproductive system. As a member of the Perinatal Institue, our research includes pre-implantation embryo development, the onset of uterine receptivity, the regulation of implantation and decidualization and the causes of preterm labor. We also examine the implications of signaling pathways in ovarian and uterine cancer and the interactions between environmental estrogens and the body.
