Meet the Richards Lab
James “JR” Jackson

James is a biomedical engineering student who obtained his BS degree in electrical engineering at Youngstown State University in Ohio. He joined the BME program at the University of Cincinnati in 2007 and joined the Richards lab in 2009.

Dave Richards, PhD

Dave heads the lab and studied biochemistry at the University of Bristol before beginning a PhD in the lab of Tim Bliss, FRS, studying the mechanisms of long-term potentiation. Dave held postdoctoral position with Bill Betz (studying vesicle cycling), Beat Gahwiler and Anne McKinney (studying plasticity of dendritic spines) and Ed Chapman (studying synaptic exocytosis). He moved to Cincinnati Children’s in 2008.

Jie Wang, PhD

Jie is a postdoctoral assistant who obtained his PhD from Peking Union Medical College in 1999. He moved to the United States for a postdoctoral with Dr. Briesewitz at Ohio State University and joined the Richards lab in 2008.
