Current Research Projects

The Sherenian lab investigates the mechanisms underlying food allergy development. Using the Mechanisms of Progression of Atopic Dermatitis to Asthma in Children Cohort (MPAACH), Dr. Sherenian leads the Food Allergy Clinical Team (FACT) study. This study aims to determine the immunologic and genetic underpinnings of food allergy development in high-risk children with atopic dermatitis. These studies are conducted in collaboration with the Hershey lab and the Schubert Research Center.
Dr. Sherenian is a co-investigator for the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center site of the multicenter CAUSE study. He along with the other team members are involved in several projects to better understand and reduce the disproportionate burden of asthma among children living in low-income urban environments.
