Marchele Nowell, BS

Research Assistant, III

Marchele is a graduate of Georgia State University of Atlanta. Marchele plays a major role developing the rodent models of obesity and sepsis, and developing and maintaining primary adipose tissue cell cultures. She also processes patient samples and isolates human blood cells for our clinical research studies.

Patrick Lahni, BS

Research Assistant, IV

Patrick is a graduate in Biochemistry of the University of Cincinnati. Patrick plays a major role in the analysis of inflammatory mediators and disease biomarkers by multiplex array technology for our basic science and clinical research studies. Patrick also serves as the general laboratory supervisor managing the daily activities of supply ordering, equipment maintenance and biosafety regulations.

Theodore (Tad) DeMartini, MD

Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellow

Dr. DeMartini enrolled in the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellowship program in 2012 after completing his residency in Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. His research focuses on the important role of adipose tissue in driving inflammation during sepsis.

Sharon Banschbach, RN

Research Nurse

Sharon Banschbach, RN, has 29 years of clinical bedside nursing experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Emergency Medicine, Surgical Orthopedics, and Neonatal Intensive Care. She is currently pursuing a BSN. Sharon has 5 years of clinical research experience and is managing studies conducted by the Division of Critical Care Medicine in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at CCHMC and for a global contract research organization with 17 clinical sites.

Eileen Beckman, RN

Research Nurse

Eileen Beckman is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree in the Science of Nursing. She is a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator with over 23 years of diverse experience coordinating both adult and pediatric clinical research trials.
