The CTRC offers a unique opportunity for investigators seeking high-quality, cost-effective research services. Thanks to support from the National Institutes of Health, through the Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) and Center for Clinical and Translational Science and Training (CCTST), we provide the following services to collaborating researchers:
Our Behavioral Science Core offers several services for researchers studying behavior and mental health, including:
The CTRC provides investigators access to Core Laboratory services such as clinical and research assays for the study of mineral and bone metabolism disorders and various assays by arrangement with investigators. The CTRC also offers a Sample Processing Laboratory which is ran by the CTRC Research Nursing Core.
The Bionutrition and Body Composition Core offers a wide range of services to support investigators, including:
The Bionutrition and Body Composition Core also provides education and training to support research teams, as well as consultation on nutrition research methodology, tools and equipment. Forms and guidelines are available to make data collection easier for researchers.
The Research Nursing Core is trained to make complex, detailed research observations and conduct precise collection and storage of specimens. Each investigator has a primary research nurse coordinator who serves as a liaison for study implementation, trains clinical staff for the research study and monitors the clinical outcomes. In addition, the Research Nursing Core runs the Sample Processing Laboratory which provides processing and storage for specimens collected in the CTRC.
The Vascular Core offers non-invasive evaluation of the vascular system to evaluate arterial structure and function in conditions that affect the vasculature such as obesity, dyslipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, kidney disease, inflammatory conditions, and others. We can perform measures of arterial thickness, arterial stiffness, and endothelial function. We provide consultation to investigators to assist them in selecting the most robust technique for testing their specific research question.
There are additional CCTST services (including study design, biostatistical support, and data management) available for investigators through Research Central on the CCTST website.
