    + Admin Core

    Principal Investigator:  Susan Thompson, PhD
    Co-Investigator:  Daniel Lovell, MD
    Co-Investigator:  Edward Giannini, DrPH

The Administrative Core supports executive oversight, management, evaluation, and reporting of scientific projects, personnel, budgets and issues of regulatory compliance that comprise the Program Project. This Core coordinates four clinical sites and oversees sample collection and clinical data management.  The Administrative Core also oversees the collection of the common gene expression dataset that is shared between the 4 projects.

+ Pediatric Rheumatology Tissue Repository (PRTR)

The Pediatric Rheumatology Tissue Repository (PRTR) has been a funded component of the P30 Cincinnati Rheumatic Disease Core Center (CRDCC) since 2001, and a major contributor to past successes of the P01 program.  This core assists local and national investigators in sample collection, processing, storage and distribution of biospecimens for rheumatic disease-related studies.

The purpose of the PRTR is to expand the collection of patient and control samples to meet the needs of the four P01 projects.  The sample collections include blood and synovial fluid from JIA patients.   Processing of these samples will provide the necessary RNA (whole blood, mononuclear cells and sorted cell populations), DNA and serum for the four studies:  The core will coordinate sample collection at the other hospitals enrolling patients for these studies.

    + Informatics

    Principal Investigator:  Michael Wagner, PhD
Co-Investigator:  Mario Medvedovic, PhD, University of Cincinnati

The Informatics Core is a funded component of the P30 CRDCC.  This core will provide the infrastructure and expertise for data management and Biostatistical analysis.  Importantly the core will also develop a  new JIA Genomics Data Portal (http://JIAGenomics.org), that will facilitate access to the data for the larger scientific community.
