About Us
The Center for Innovation in Chronic Disease Care includes multi-disciplinary research and clinical team members focused on improving healthcare delivery and outcomes for patients with chronic diseases. To achieve this, the Center seeks to accelerate improvements through the development and evaluation of research findings, innovations in other industries, and interventions created here at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. The guiding principles for the Center include: focusing on the needs of the patient and family; fostering and facilitating a multi-disciplinary team that embraces change and experimentation; taking calculated risks to enhance care and management of chronic diseases; creating or redesigning/redefining processes, products and roles; and achieving value and learning from success and failures.
The Center acts as a catalyst for translating innovative methods and strategies to care delivery and improved outcomes. With a focus on chronic diseases, the Center is able to create the potential to translate proven successful interventions and strategies for one disease to other chronic diseases effectively and efficiently. Other industries are a key source for the Center to learn about innovations which have proven to be successful and can be translated to the healthcare industry, as well as, how these innovations can lead to partnerships across industries.
