  • “2008 Marita G. Titler Conduct of Research Poster Award”:  presented to  EBP Mentor Barbie Giambra at the Fifteenth National Evidence-Based Practice conference in Iowa City, IA
  • “2007 Excellence in Nursing Research Award”: presented to Dr. Myra Huth from Society of Pediatric Nurses.
  • “2006 Senior Researcher Award”: presented to Dr. Myra Huth from Midwest Nursing Research Society,  Pediatric Research Section
  • “2005 Distinguished Nurse Research Award”: presented to Dr. Myra Huth from College of Mount Saint Joseph, Cincinnati, OH


Research Highlights

 

  • 6 Research Roundtable offerings to Cincinnati Children’s staff
  • Studies in non-pharmacological and pharmacological pain management
  • Patient-classification study in the Regional Center for Newborn Intensive Care (RCNIC) and a grant submission for larger study
  • Two grants submitted for Federal funding; one in collaboration with University of Iowa and the other with the Division of Human Genetics at Cincinnati Children’s.
  • Collaboration with CHCA Falls Study
  • Mentored a student from University of Cincinnati’s Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Summer Program

 

Evidence-based Practice Highlights:


  • Websites to facilitate Evidence-Based Practice
  • Point of Care Scholars program in collaboration with the Nursing Professional Inquiry council.
  • Residency education – provide EBP content within the RN Residency Education Program
  • EBP Resource tools – collaborative effort within the Evidence-Based Decision Making workgroup.
  • Projects:  40 active (combination of nursing and allied health projects)
