Meet The Team
Myra M. Huth, PhD, RN (Assistant Vice President, CPE-R & EBP): Myra conducts research to reduce children’s pain and has had several funded studies. Her publications include topics related to evidence-based practice, nursing interventions to reduce children’s postoperative pain, a theory of pain management, instrumentation, and pediatric clinical practice.
Mary Kelch (Senior Administrative Assistant): Mary is the Senior Administrative Assistant for Dr. Myra Huth in the Center for Professional Excellence/EBP department. She also does article searches for the team’s research projects.
Research team
Nancy Daraiseh, PhD (Research Associate): Nancy is involved in grant development for the Center. Her current research includes pediatric patient classification, workload, and occupational health outcomes in healthcare providers.
Debra VanKuiken, PhD, RN: Debra’s research interest area is in the role of hope in self-care. She supports Patient Services through consultation and teaches the research portion of the POCS program.
Li Lin, MS (statistician): Assist researchers in the design, execution, and analyses of basic clinical, epidemiological and basic science studies.
EBP team
Lisa Long, MSN, RN, CNS: serves in the role of an Evidence-Based Practice Mentor and Director, Evidence-Based Practice. Lisa has completed a post-Master’s Graduate Certificate Program in Evidence-Based Practice at Arizona State University. Lisa’s area of interest is on the development of systems to support evidence work within organizations.
Susan Mc Gee, MSN, RN, CNP: Susan has worked as an Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) Mentor since November 2005. Susan’s areas of interest include pediatric neuroscience nursing, nursing staff development, and the identification and evaluation of strategies to minimize barriers to EBP implementation.
Barbara Giambra, MS, RN, CNP: Barbie is an Evidence-Based Practice Mentor and a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Her practice focus is implementation of evidence-based practice to enhance the care of children and families. Barbie’s is interested in pediatric otolaryngology including airway and chronic disease.
