Center for Breastfeeding Medicine

  • About Us

The faculty and staff at Cincinnati Children’s support breastfeeding as the optimal nutrition for infants. The members of the Center for Breastfeeding Medicine are committed to helping mothers successfully breastfeed longer.

The Center for Breastfeeding Medicine is a multidisciplinary effort headed by Medical Director Sheela Geraghty, MD, MS, IBCLC, an associate professor of pediatrics in the Division of General and Community Pediatrics.  Sarah Riddle, MD, IBCLC, is the director of clinical services for the center. Dr. Riddle is an adjunct assistant professor in the Division of General and Community Pediatrics.

Clinical services are provided by Drs. Geraghty, Riddle, and Springer, board certified pediatricians and board certified lactation consultants. The three physicians see patients at the Main Hospital and Children's Outpatient sites in Mason and Northern Kentucky. Six nurse lactation consultants with diverse backgrounds in mother and infant care provide breastfeeding support throughout the medical center.
