The Connective Tissue Clinic at Cincinnati Children’s provides expert diagnosis and management for children and young adults with connective tissue disorders, such as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and joint hypermobility syndrome.
Our clinic includes medical geneticists, genetic counselors and a nurse. They clinically evaluate, diagnose and make recommendations and referrals to other specialties as needed. Our team cares for about 800 to 900 patients a year, making us one of the largest connective tissue clinics in the nation.
Signs of a connective tissue disorder can vary greatly from one individual to another, making diagnosis difficult. We are unique because our clinic is involved in the diagnosis and management of connective tissue disorders as well as research to find better ways to help our patients.
Join us April 21 for an hour-long session hosted by Derek Neilson, MD, discussing the diagnosis and management of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS). Neilson will review the criteria used to diagnose hypermobile EDS and discuss general recommendations that help patients with EDS. He will also describe the mechanisms behind each recommendation and the benefit patients receive when following through with them. The cost is $40. Register now.
