• New Onset Seizure Clinic

    Our multidisciplinary team specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of children who experience seizures. Our team of experts includes neurologists, nurse practitioners, social workers, nurses and researchers.

    This team approach combines state-of-the-art clinical care, detailed education and cutting-edge research to design an individualized treatment plan for your child. Our team strives to address the medical, psychological and social needs of your child and family.

    New Onset Seizure Clinic appointments generally take longer than a routine doctor’s appointment. Due to the thorough evaluation by the team, an appointment typically lasts one to three hours.

    Clinic Location and Times

    Our clinics are on the eighth floor of Location A at the Cincinnati Children’s Burnet Campus.

    First-time visits are scheduled: 7:30-10:50 am on Monday and Wednesday, and 8:10 am-12:10 pm on Thursday.

    Follow-up visits are scheduled: 7:45-11:15 am Monday through Wednesday, and 7:45-11:45 am Thursday. There are also afternoon hours on Tuesday and Wednesday, 12:30-4:00 pm.

    Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled clinic visit.


    Our experts will provide a thorough evaluation of your child’s events. The evaluation may include diagnostic testing such as:

    • EEG
    • Ambulatory EEG
    • Video / EEG monitoring
    • MRI
    • EKG

    In addition, your child may be referred to other specialists for further evaluation.

    Follow-Up Clinic

    New Onset Seizure Follow-up Clinic is managed by pediatric nurse practitioners and pediatric psychologists in collaboration with a neurologist as needed.
