The Pigmented Lesion Center, which is coordinated through the Division of Pediatric Dermatology, is comprised of an intra-disciplinary group of providers from Dermatology, Pediatric General Surgery, Pediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Pediatric Oncology who specialize in the evaluation and treatment of congenital melanocytic nevi (moles), atypical melanocytic tumors, and melanoma.
At the Pigmented Lesion Center, we specialize in the evaluation and treatment of melanocytic nevi (moles) and melanoma. Our goal is to provide children and their families with a thorough clinical evaluation, comprehensive discussion of their diagnosis, and treatment recommendations. Our caring and supportive team of physicians, nurses, and care coordinators will ensure that your patients receive the best care available for their condition.
The Center’s collaboration with the Cincinnati Children’s Cancer and Blood Disease Institute (CBDI) gives patients access to a unique breadth of capabilities, including novel diagnostics, molecular profiling, clinical trials, personalized medicine approaches, and new drug development capabilities. Novel therapeutics that may be available to patients include nivolumab (PD-1 inhibitor), ipilimumab (CTLA-4 inhibitor), trametinib (MEK inhibitor) and other drugs, depending on the biology of the tumor.
