Drug and Poison Information Center

    The Cincinnati Drug and Poison Information Center (DPIC) has been serving Greater Cincinnati since the 1970s.  DPIC is currently part of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, located in the heart of Cincinnati. Currently, DPIC serves Greater Cincinnati and greater Akron, providing services to the public as well as the professional and healthcare communities. 

    Please take time to visit our website for information regarding first aid, poison prevention, common household plants, syrup of ipecac, dangerous gases, animals, drug identification, substance abuse and many other educational and prevention materials. For kids, take your turn at the Safety House, coloring pages and activities. For parents, print out the babysitter checklist and education sheets for use in your home.     Community Outreach and Education Programs

    The Drug and Poison Information Center (DPIC) offers a variety of community outreach and training programs. DPIC specialists often speak with preschool-age children, youths, teens, adults, new parents, healthcare professionals, substance abuse professionals and more.
