Lipid Clinic (Dyslipidemia)

Comprehensive Care for Pediatric Cholesterol Disorders

The Heart Institute offers one of the nation’s only dedicated pediatric lipid clinics. We see more than 700 patients with dyslipidemia every year.

As part of our comprehensive program your child will receive: 

  • Diagnosis and treatment of disorders of cholesterol
  • Screening for co-existing hypertension, risk for diabetes and lifestyle- or obesity-related target organ damage
  • Nutritional education to teach families how to reduce dietary fat and cholesterol
  • Three-day diet recall for computerized evaluation of dietary composition
