Health Services Research Matrix
The Health Services Research (HSR) Matrix at Cincinnati Children’s is a multidisciplinary, interdivisional initiative. Members strive to develop a creative, integrated institutional portfolio of health services, outcomes and QI research that brings researchers, patients and clinicians together to create knowledge and innovations and translates that knowledge into practice and policy to improve care and outcomes for children, families and communities.
Peter Margolis, MD, PhD, leads the HSR work and collaborates closely with a steering committee cochaired by Robert Kahn, MD, MPH (General Pediatrics), and Dennis Drotar, PhD (Division of Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology). The committee meets monthly to strategically develop, implement and support initiatives that will foster a community of health services research at Cincinnati Children’s and beyond. Steering committee members include representatives from a diverse array of Cincinnati Children’s divisions, including Surgery, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary Medicine, Biomedical Informatics and Emergency Medicine.
The HSR Matrix supports a number of ongoing educational and developmental opportunities for professionals interested in gaining additional expertise in the broad field of health services research.
