  • Treatment and Services

    The Kelly O’Leary Center conducts research on an ongoing basis to better understand causes and effective interventions for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively with other divisions throughout Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

    We provide a wide range of services and supports designed to best meet the individual needs of children with ASD and their families:

    Diagnostic Services

    We provide a full multidisciplinary diagnostic battery that follows the national Autism Treatment Network diagnostic protocol.

    Therapeutic Programming Sessions

    Our therapists work with your family and child to develop short-term intervention plans implemented at the center, at home or in community agencies.

    Short-term Intervention

    We design interventions that provide you with strategies to address your child’s specific behavioral, communication, sensory/motor, social, and feeding concerns.

    Social Skills Groups

    Our child-centered groups address a variety of age and skill levels.

    Early Intensive Behavior Intervention

    We offer an intensive program using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to teach young children, up through preschool age.

    ABA Consultation

    Our consultation services are available for families wishing to continue Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) programming during their child’s school-age years.

    Toilet Training Program

    We offer an intensive short-term toilet training program to assist families.

    Community Consultation

    Consultation services are available for schools and community agencies related either to the needs of a specific child or to general program development.

    Severe Behavior Treatment Program

    We offer short-term day treatment intervention in a full-day setting for a limited number of children who are unable to maintain school-based placement.

    Parent Training

    We work with parents and caregivers as partners in treatment sessions that provide individualized learning opportunities.

    Community Training

    We offer a variety of professional training opportunities to help support community professionals working with children with ASD and their families.
