The Pediatric Liver Care Center at Cincinnati Children’s is recognized worldwide as one of the best liver care programs for children and their families. Our pediatric surgeons and hepatologists have worked together for more than 25 years to provide the best possible care for children with liver disease, and U.S. News & World Report ranked us among the top four pediatric gastroenterology divisions in the nation in 2014-15.
This expertise means you can count on us when your child suffers from liver disease. Our team is committed to a family-centered care philosophy in which we partner with the whole family to treat the child, not just the disease.
And it produces results. Since 1986, we have performed more than 600 liver transplants, and our research labs have been the home of a number of breakthroughs in liver care, from diagnostics to treatments. We attract referrals from physicians around the world, thanks to our expert team, innovative approach to liver care and a commitment to providing the best possible outcomes for our patients. Over 500 patients with liver disease are evaluated each year in our center, and over 800 gene mutation screens are conducted for children with chronic liver disease.
